UPS chief looks to deliver more services An interesting article/interview about the inner workings of UPS and their future.
On a local ad note: Arnold Prevails for McDonald's Co-Op Work Arnold Tuesday won a shootout with Leo Burnett and its Starcom media affiliate to add an estimated $15-20 million in New England-area McDonald's franchisee work, a client representative said.
Havas-owned Arnold, Boston, reclaimed the greater Boston franchisee account it lost to Publicis Groupe's Burnett and Starcom in a review two years ago. That group also includes McDonald's restaurants in eastern Massachusetts. Arnold also picks up the Maine franchisee group from the Chicago-based Burnett-Starcom team, the representative said. Media chores will be handled by Arnold MPG, the agency's media arm.
The greater Boston and Maine franchisees are pooling their ad spending with two other nearby groups -- Springfield, Mass./Hartford, Conn., and Albany, N.Y. -- that were already handled by Arnold; that budget consolidation triggered the shootout, the representative said.
~Now let's hope that this means they will be hiring and I can be a potential candidate!!~

Postal rate hike could be delayed until 2006 Thank goodness. It's not only good news for dm and publishing communities, but I find it to be great news as well. In my short 25 years, the price of sending a piece of mail has increased nearly as much as my age. If it continued at that rate...it's going to very expensive in the future!
